This Week’s Challenge

Week 12

This week’s Challenge

This week, the National Children’s choir invites us to sing a song by Beethoven for our Frontline Workers. Do you know who Beethoven is? No, not the Dog. The man who was a famous composer. Well, he composed a fabulous song. ‘Ode to Joy’ .. This week’s challenge is to learn the version of the song below and step into our front garden at at 6 p.m. on Sunday 21st June and sing it aloud. If you have a video or a recording, send it on to us at challenge@stpatricksgirls.net.

Help us pay tribute to our frontline crew on World Music Day & European Music Day with our version of the song. See this website for backing tracks

Thank You to the Frontline Crew

(lyrics to be sung to Ode to Joy)

Thank you to the frontline crew, who’ve kept our whole world turning,

Paying heed to all we need, for you our candle’s burning.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh, is buíochas libh, for all you give.

Thank you to the frontline crew, who’ve kept our whole world turning.

Thank you to the frontline crew, who’ve kept our whole world turning,

Paying heed to all we need, for you our candle’s burning.

In days dark and dangerous, you’ve stood by us, we stand with you.

Thank you to the frontline crew, who’ve kept our whole world turning.

Thank you to the frontline crew, who’ve kept our whole world turning,

Paying heed to all we need, for you our candle’s burning.

Sisters, brothers, fathers and mothers, neighbours, friends and children sing

Thank you to the frontline crew, who’ve kept our whole world turning.
