Rang 6 recently took part in the ‘Egg Drop Challenge’
Their task was to design a functional parachute or capsule to safely house and protect their precious egg as it was dropped from one of the upstairs windows.
The girls worked tremendously hard to design, create and construct their parachutes / capsules. We had great fun putting our constructions to the test! The vast majority of eggs indeed had a safe landing!
We discussed contributing factors to both safe landings and breakages and considered would we change anything if we were to construct another functioning parachute again.
We certainly have a class of skilled scientific designers in our midst here in Rang 6 St Patrick’s.
