The class had a fantastic time on a walking tour of the Glen with local historian Gerard O’Brien. He told us all about how the area has changed over the years, from being full of busy mills and factories to becoming the beautiful biodiverse park we know today. We learned that the Glen River used to power five different mill ponds and that the stone for the mills was quarried right here in the Glen! Gerard’s stories really brought the history of the area to life, and everyone loved hearing about the Glen’s fascinating past.
