Week 13 Monday 22nd June to Friday 26th June
Dear Parents and Girls,
Hi everyone, Happy Holidays!! Well done, we’ve made it to the end of the year.
Congratulations on completing 5th class. If you can remember back before Covid-19, back
before the school closure and back before distance learning and home-schooling we actually
did lots of fun stuff this year.
Remember the fantastic Gymnastics Dance performance you did with Patsy, the wonderful
Marine Life project you all worked on together, the Christmas Carol Service and being
brought to the Church in the Garda Bus because the rain was so heavy!
What about our trip to Mayfield Library to meet Judi Curtin and our visit to Mayfield
Community School, where you all made name tags and delicious treats! We also took a trip
to explore Blackrock Castle and learn all about Electricity.
Do you remember the scientists coming to visit and the experiments you did with them,
making protective clothing for broken bones and experiments dissolving ‘tablets?’
How many of you have used some of the ideas you learned when making Christmas
Decorations from recycled materials? Can you taste the delicious hot chocolate and treats
you purchased at the St. Patrick’s Girls’ Secondary School Christmas Markets?
Lots of singing was also done with our girls in the school choir and an opportunity to sing
along with the Army Band in City Hall.
From Friendship Week to Science Week, learning about Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, The Aztecs,
The E.U. Australia, The Heart, The Skin and How Our Bodies Work, sewing Christmas
decorations, Assemblies and Worker of the Week, Fun Friday’s in Maths, Seo le Pádraig and
drama, Camogie, Violin, Junior Achievement, News2Day, we did it all. (We even did a few
‘fun’ fractions and some ‘fun’ Gaeilge verbs!!)
I know sometimes it wasn’t easy trying to do schoolwork from home and missing your
friends and yard time but well done girls, as I said last week you all adapted your schooling
and learning and did so well. I am very proud of you all, you’ve shown great maturity and
proved what great girls you all are.
Have some fun this week going on virtual school tours or trying a few sports day activities at
home. You can find great and exciting ideas at these links.

Then take a well-earned break, enjoy the Summer holidays, stay safe and I’ll see you all
again on Thursday 27th August. We will be moving downstairs to Room 16. (The room Ms.
Browne was in this year.)
Remember to continue practicing your Hygiene Rules throughout the Summer, have fun and
stay safe.
Bye for now,
Ms. O’Sullivan
