On Thursday 18th January, 6th class successfully coordinated and ran a Well-being Day for the girls in our school.
Our ‘Be Healthy, Be Happy’ day included three stations ; ‘Movement, Mindfulness and Meditation’. We had great fun in the halla developing our dance skills and we also took part in a circuit training challenge. Secondly, Rang 6 cailiní read us a Mindful story about kindness and well-being by Carol McCloud ‘Have you Filled a Bucket Today?’ and we completed a follow up task around how we fill our own buckets and those of others. The girls contributed well to peer discussions and worked very well in groups. Lastly, the girls enjoyed a mindfulness meditation in the library and some yoga too.
We hope that our girls will carry on practicing these well-being activities and techniques themselves going forward both in school and at home.
Thank you to all the 6th class girls who worked to hard on preparing and delivering this well-being initiative- Maith sibh a cailiní !
