A number of pupils from 6th class recently took part in Genius Hour, where they had the opportunity to explore their own passions and interests through project based work. The projects selected included exploring topics such as – Is gymnastics dangerous?; What are the key skills involved in becoming a competent camogie player?; What kind of training regime is required to become a professional soccer player like Denise O’Sullivan?; What impact do video games have on children?; What are the steps required for a simple skincare routine for a pre-teen?; What are the rules involved in playing Gaelic football?; What kind of dogs make the best pets?; What kind of training regime does Katie Taylor have in order to make her a world champion? The girls worked really hard researching their chosen topic, putting together their project displays and finally presenting their projects to the whole school. We even had a really impressive gymnastics display from Abigail and Julia. Abigail and Julia also demonstrated a number of different gymnastic moves chosen by the audience. Well done girls on all your hard work on your Genius Hour projects!!
