Both of our sixth classes recently took part in ROAM, a city-wide creative wellbeing project developed by Cork City Council and the Irish Hospice Foundation under the Creative Ireland Programme. The initiative is part of the broader Sláintecare Healthy Communities scheme, aimed at fostering social connection and emotional wellbeing, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the programme, our students worked alongside professionally trained local artists to explore themes of community, memory, and connection through music and visual art. Their creativity and collaboration played a vital role in a series of intergenerational workshops that brought together young people and older adults in shared storytelling and artistic expression.

We are especially proud to share that the artwork produced by our sixth class students is already on display in the local community, where it has been warmly received. Their thoughtful contributions are not only beautiful but serve as powerful reminders of the strength and spirit of our community.

Well done to all involved for representing our school with such creativity, empathy, and heart!
