Week 12 Monday 15th June to Friday 19th June
Week 11 Monday 8th June to Friday 12th June
Letter
Hello parents and girls,
We are nearly there! Just a few more weeks until the Summer Holidays.
It has been the strangest year, but I hope you will focus on the positive things and remember them.
I remember some fantastic gymnastic/dance displays with Patsy in September/October.
Do you remember your project on Marine Life?
How about our trip to Mayfield Community School where you made edible monsters and keyrings with your name?
We also went to Mayfield Library to hear Judy Curtin speak about her new book, “Lily at Lissadell”.
You learnt about the Digestive System but lots of you thought the experiment was “disgusting”!
Do you remember the talk about Dinosaurs in the boy’s school or the science experiments you did in Ms O’Sullivan’s room? If I remember correctly you were recording how long it took to dissolve “tablets” (you used sweets) and you had to design and make a protective covering for broken bones including the cost of making it.
Do you remember when you were advertising some strange modes of transport for Junior Achievement before Christmas?
Do you remember the Garda bus to the church for the Pageant?
Do you still have the recycled decorations you made?
If you were in the school choir did you enjoy singing at the Airport?
Did you enjoy the Army Band in City Hall and our trip to Blackrock Castle to learn about electricity?
I also enjoyed your performance for Seo le Pádraig.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten some of the things we did. If you think of anything else email me at 5thclass@stpatricksgirls.net
Try some of the work for this week and make use of Boredom Busters if you need to.
I’ll talk to you all soon,
Margaret Browne

Dear parents and girls,
It’s hard to believe it’s the month of June already!
I hope you are all well and enjoying the beautiful weather. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
This is a short “school week” as we were due to have Tuesday off as well as Monday. I have marked
work for three days. Watch out for video links in Maths.
If you are looking for extra activities look back at suggestions for previous weeks and look at the
Boredom Busters section on the school website. You will find activities to keep the whole family
occupied.
Have a good week and keep washing your hands!
Ms Browne
